Dec 04 | Women's Swimming & Diving
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's swimming and diving squad opened the 2019 Rutgers Invitational with a new Rutgers Aquatics Center record in the 4x800 freestyle relay on Wednesday night.
"I had a good feeling that they were going to break the record tonight based on how they've been practicing. They swam great. I think we're going to break a lot of records this season. This is who we are recruiting, how we are training and we're executing the plan that Fred (Woodruff) and I created two years ago. We are continuing to execute the plan on a high level and continuing to improve. This is exactly what we are planning to do." – swimming head coach Jon Maccoll
The Rutgers invitational continues with day two action on Thursday. At 10 a.m., with prelims of the 500 free, 200 individual medley and 50 free along with diving on the 1-meter board. At 6 p.m., action continues with finals racing along with the the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relays.
