Rutgers women's basketball returned to the win column with a 63-56 victory over Michigan on Super Bowl Sunday at the RAC. The win snapped a four-game skid for RU and marked the first ranked victory since 2015 with the victory back on Feb. 4.
The Scarlet Knights were led by Ciani Cryor with 16 points to match her season-high. Stasha Carey followed with 12 points to round out the double figure scorers for RU.

Michigan countered with eight straight points, including six-consecutive points for Flaherty, to tie the score 15-15 at the 5:05 mark of the second quarter. Carey, however, put an end to the surge with a 3-pointer, sending the Scarlet Knights on a 13-6 burst.
Following back-to-back layups for Nigia Greene in the final seconds of the first half, Cryor drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to set the RU lead at 28-21 heading into halftime.
A steal and layup for Khadaizha Sanders kept the momentum rolling for RU right at the start of the third quarter, igniting an 8-4 run to extend the lead to 36-25 with 7:00 left on the clock.
Michigan's Brown halted the run with a 6-2 run on her own to cut into the margin, 38-32. Flaherty followed it up with a shot from beyond the arc to pull the Wolverines within three at 38-35 with 4:06 to go in the frame. The teams would go on to trade points, but RU held onto its lead 45-40 moving into the fourth quarter.
Although Carey opened the final frame with a shot from beyond the arc, the Wolverines countered with seven-straight points to pull within one at 48-47 with 6:16 remaining in the game.
Momentum swung, however, in the Scarlet Knights' favor.
