Big Ten Match Play Championships Day One Results

PALM COAST, Fla. – Rutgers men's golf closed out the first day of the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Palm Coast, Florida. The Scarlet Knights dropped a tight 3.5 to 2.5 loss to No. 4-seed Ohio State before it suffered a 4-2 loss to No. 5-seed Penn State.
Rutgers tees off tomorrow at 8 a.m. ET against No. 3-seed Iowa.
Sophomore Christopher Gotterup registered a 2 up win over Daniel Wetterich, while classmate Putt Sridama won 1 up over Justin Wick. Junior Tony Jiang was all square with Will Grimmer as the Buckeyes used three individual wins to move on in the championship bracket.
Jiang earned a 1 up win over Ryan Dornes of Penn State in the second round, while Gotterup and rookie Shayler Dance halved their individual matchups against the Nittany Lions.
