Men’s T/F Competes at Boston University and Clemson Invitationals

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's track and field wrapped up its weekend at the Boston University Hemery/Valentine Invitational and the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational. The Scarlet Knights posted numerous personal records and IC4A qualifying marks in the final weekend of competition ahead of the Big Ten Indoor Championships.
BOSTON UNIVERISTY DAVID HEMERY/VALENTINE INVITATIONAL
Sophomore Tobi Tella won the triple jump with a mark of 15.47m (50' 9.25"), while classmate Malachi Davis followed in third with a result of 15.43m (50' 7.5").
Junior Perry Christie claimed the high jump title, resetting his PR for the second straight meet with a mark of 2.16m (7' 1"). Freshman Semaj Willis followed in third with a mark of 2.04m (6' 8.25").
Freshman Antonio Tarantino posted the fastest collegiate time of 21.09. in the 200m.
In the long jump, freshman A'Nan Bridgett led RU with a mark of 7.13m (23' 4.75"), finishing fourth in the event. Davis followed with an identical leap of 7.13m (23' 4.75"). Junior Jairus Paul posted a mark of 7.10m (23' 3.5") in the event as well, while adding a result of 14.35m (47' 1") in the triple jump.
In the shot put, freshman Kamron Kobolak recorded a new personal-best mark of 15.84m. Jarrod Brovero recorded a mark of 4.20m in the pole vault.
In the 800m, sophomore Billy Hill (1:52.42), senior Edward Zaleck (1:53.63), and junior Jared Skalski (1:53.95) all posted personal records in the race.
In the 3000m, junior Cole Pschunder (PR - 8:17.82), senior Conor Murphy (PR - 8:23.49), and sophomore Patrick Walsh (8:39.26), freshman Nicholas Hutchison (PR - 8:58.42) all represented RU in the event. Sophomore Christopher Jenkins posted a PR of 48.34 in the 400m.
CLEMSON TIGER PAW INVITATIONAL
Senior Izaiah Brown posted times of 21.30 in the 200m and a season-best 46.23 in the 400m. Brown finished fifth in the 400 with the fourth best college time and in the Top 10 of the 200m.
Sophomore Taj Burgess notched a time of 46.84 in the 400m, finishing in the Top 10. Senior Sterling Pierce recorded a time of 7.04 in the 60m and a mark of 21.91 in the 200m.
Sophomore Edwyn Pierre registered a personal-best time of 22.84 in the 200m, along with a time of 8.23 in the 60m hurdles.
