Tennis Hits the Road for Two Matches in Maryland

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis hits the road for two matches in Maryland, starting with Towson on Friday, March 8 at 12 p.m. RU then begins Big Ten play against the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, March 9 at 12 p.m.

RUTGERS QUICK HITS
- Rutgers defeated Buffalo on Friday, moving to 4-0 at home and 5-2 overall this season.
- The Scarlet Knights posted five singles victories to top the Bulls by a score of 5-2.
- Sophomore Maya Jacobs leads the team with a 6-1 record at the No. 1 singles spot.
- The duo of junior Jaci Cochrane and Jacobs are on a two-match win streak in doubles play.
SCOUTING TOWSON
- Towson (2-6, 1-0 CAA) split its matches last weekend with a win against conference foe Hofstra and a loss to NJIT.
- The Tigers won the doubles point and four singles for a 5-2 win against the Pride.
- Towson claimed the doubles point against NJIT, but were swept in singles for a 6-1 loss.
- Head coach Jamie Peterson is in his second year at the helm of the program.
SCOUTING MARYLAND
- Maryland (2-7) dropped two matches last weekend, falling to William & Mary by a score of 4-2 and to Princeton by a mark of 4-3.
- Millie Stretton leads the team with a 4-2 record in singles action across the No. 2 and 3 positions.
- Zoe Kulkarni also owns a team-high four singles wins on the year with a 4-5 record.
- Last season, the Terrapins recorded a 7-0 win over the Scarlet Knights in New Jersey.
