PRINCETON, N.J. – Rutgers rowing will send three representatives to the 2019 Under 23 Women's National Team Selection Camps this summer, as
Kathleen Butler,
Sarah Johanek and
Elizabeth Kogan earned invites it was announced.
Mackenzie George was added to the waitlist for the Women's Lightweight Under 23 selection camp.

For Johanek, this is her second trip to the Under 23 selection camp after being invited in 2018. The two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree captured gold at the World Championships as a member of the U.S. Under 23 women's coxed four in Poznan, Poland on July 28, 2018.

Johanek, Butler and Kogan row in the first varsity eight for the Scarlet Knights, opening the season with a pair of wins and helping lead the program to its first-ever team national ranking at No. 15 in the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll. The first varsity eight picked up wins over then-No. 20 Duke, No. 15 Minnesota and No. 14 Syracuse to open the year with a 2-0 record.

The squad also received Big Ten Boat of the Week honors for the second time in school history following a win in the season opener at the Cooper Sprints.

George rows on the second varsity four, helping guide Rutgers to a win at the Doc Hosea Invitational in the second event of the season.

The women's camp will select the U23 women's eight, four, quadruple sculls and four with coxswain that will compete at the 2019 World Rowing Under 23 Championships scheduled for July 24-28 in Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla. The camp also will select a pair to race at USRowing's Under 23 World Championship Trials in early July. The camp will be held at the Thomas Temple Allan Boathouse in Charlottesville, Va.
