No. 14 Rowing Wins Three of Six Events at No. 7 Princeton

Varsity Four defeats No. 7 Princeton and No. 12 Wisconsin
PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 14 Rutgers rowing traveled to Lake Carnegie for racing against Columbia, No. 12 Wisconsin and host school No. 7 Princeton on Saturday, April 27. The Scarlet Knights picked up three wins on the weekend.
The varsity four kicked off the day's action with a winning time of 7:19.4, finishing ahead of No. 12 Wisconsin in second, No. 7 Princeton in third and Columbia in four. The second varsity four finished second with a time of 7:34.4.
In the varsity eight, the Scarlet Knights took third with a time of 6:26.7, outpacing Columbia.
Rutgers raced two boats in the novice eight with the Rutgers A boat defeating Princeton with a time of 7:10.3. The Scarlet Knights also race a pair of boats in the third varsity four event with RU taking the first two spots with Rutgers A in first (7:48.2), followed by Rutgers B (7:52.2) and then Princeton in third.
The Scarlet Knights rose to their highest-ever ranking in the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll last week after a strong showing at its Big Ten Double Dual, moving from 16th to 13th.
Rutgers will close out the regular season with the Eastern Sprints on May 5 in Worcester, Mass., before heading to the Big Ten Championships where the team is coming off its best-ever finish in 2018.
