PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 20 Rutgers men's lacrosse set a program record with four All-Big Ten players and three First Team selections as the Big Ten Conference announced its awards Tuesday. Attackman

Kyle Pless was named Second Team All-Big Ten. Edelmann was also named Big Ten Co-Specialist of the Year.
Owen Mead was Rutgers' Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree.

Brian Brecht said. "They have all made a major impact on our team and been a big part of our success. I am very proud of their individual accomplishments and all of their contributions to our program this year."
Charalambides led the team with 45 goals this season, which places him third all-time on Rutgers' single-season record list. In his first game action since 2016 following multiple injuries, he added 14 assists to set a career-high with 59 points. The Georgetown, Ontario native scored 18 goals in the five Big Ten Conference games, pacing the league. He had 13 multi-goal games, including six times scoring at least four goals in a game. A team captain, his 3.2 goals per game average is seventh in the nation. He has scored a goal in 22 consecutive games, the sixth longest streak in the country. Athletically listed as a redshirt sophomore, Charalambides is enrolled in graduate school for Urban Planning and Policy Development.
Edelmann excelled as the Scarlet Knights' goalkeeper this season. He averaged 14.83 saves per game, which led the nation, while posting a 57.2% save percentage that led the conference and was fourth nationally. The Middletown, Md. native recorded double-digit saves in every game, reaching at least 17 saves on six different occasions. A two-time Big Ten weekly award winner, he held a goals-against-average of 11.08. The team captain majored in Labor Studies and Employment Relations and is working towards a postgraduate degree. Edelmann previously was named to Second Team All-Big Ten in 2017.
Mullins led the team with 36 assists and added 23 goals to share the team-high with Charalambides with 59 points. The Islip, N.Y. native was sixth in the nation and second in the conference in assists per game (3.0) and 12
th in the country in points per game (4.92). Mullins was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice this season and also earned national Player of the Week honors from US Lacrosse following a six-goal, three-assist performance in a win at St. John's. A team captain, Mullins was previously named Second Team All-Big Ten in 2017. A Pre-Med student, Mullins is majoring in Biological Sciences.
Pless was Rutgers' top defenseman this season. A four-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, Pless was second in the Big Ten with 1.64 caused turnover per game. The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native set a career-best with 23 caused turnovers while collecting 32 ground balls. A team captain and Economics major, Pless was drafted by the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse.
Mead finished the regular season fifth on the team with 13 goals, six assists and 19 points, all of which represented career-highs. A junior midfielder from Sparta, N.J., he also set career-bests with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. A Biology major, he served as a member of Rutgers' Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and was heavily involved in community service efforts.
Rutgers' four All-Big Ten honorees is a program record. Additionally, the three First Team selection are the most ever. Edelmann is the second Rutgers' player since joining the Big Ten in 2015 to earn Specialist of the Year honors, joining Joe Nardella (2015). The Scarlet Knights have had at least one person win each special award with Edelmann joining Nardella, Scott Bieda (2016 Offensive Player of the Year), Charalambides (2016 Freshman of the Year),
Michael Rexrode (2018 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year) and
Brian Brecht (2016 Coach of the Year). Rutgers now has had 10 First Team All-Big Ten selections in five years as part of the conference.
Rutgers will be the fourth seed in the Big Ten Tournament, which will be hosted in Piscataway starting on Thursday. The Scarlet Knights will face Penn State at 5 p.m. in the first semifinal.
