Chris Mirabelli of Rutgers men's track and field claimed his third title in the javelin at the 2019 Big Ten Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Iowa. Â

PODIUM FINISHES
Mirabelli registered a throw of 71.83m (235' 8") to top the field, marking his third Big Ten title in the event. The Lumberton, New Jersey, native claimed the title in 2016 and 2017 before shoulder surgery and heart condition sidelined him for the 2018 campaign.

Greg Harnett finished fifth with a personal-best throw of 65.30m (214' 3") followed by classmate
Michael Thomas in seventh with his own PR of 61.87m (203'). Overall, the three Scarlet Knight podium finishes in the javelin totaled 16 points for RU.

TRACK EVENTS
Freshman
Jameson Woodell and sophomore
Christopher Jenkins represented Rutgers in the trials for the 400m hurdles. Woodell posted a PR of 53.77, while Jenkins clocked a time of 54.25.

Junior
Cole Pschunder posted a PR of 3:51.23 in the 1500m race. Sophomore
Billy Hill followed with a time of 4:01.26.

In the 200m trials, senior
Sterling Pierce posted a time of 21.55.
