NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – No. 14 Rutgers rowing will travel to Barboo, Wis., for the
2019 Big Ten Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 19 on Devil's Lake at Devil's Lake State Park. The Scarlet Knights enjoyed their best finish in program history at the conference championship last season.

Rutgers finished ahead of then-No. 20 Michigan State to earn a seventh-place showing in the team standings, the highest mark for any Scarlet Knight team since joining the conference. Record performances were turned in by the varsity eight, second varsity eight, second varsity four, novice eight and second novice eight as all posted its best finish since 2015 in those respective races.

The Scarlet Knights are in the midst of their best season in program history, accomplishing a number of milestones, including three Big Ten Boat of the Week nods. Rutgers received its first-ever weekly conference award last season, and topped that total this year with two honors for the varsity eight and one for the varsity four.

Rutgers also earned its first-ever ranking in the CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll as well as team victories in Doc Hosea Invitational and Women's Eastern Sprints. The Scarlet Knights posted ranked wins throughout the season with the varsity eight defeating then-No. 20 Duke, No. 14 Syracuse, No. 15 Minnesota and No. 13 Harvard.
