PISCATAWAY, N.J. (July 1, 2019) – Rutgers swimming and diving has earned a 11th consecutive distinction as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team by posting a 3.53 team grade point average for the Spring 2019 semester.

The CSCAA announced a record 777 men's and women's teams from across the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions for earning a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the grading period. The Scarlet Knights ranked 65th out of the 184Â Division I women's teams.

"This honor has become a source of pride for our program, and our student-athletes have made a continual commitment to uphold the academic standard set by previous teams," said head coach
Jon Maccoll. "We are extremely appreciative for the academic support from
Gilah Rosenberg and the resources provided by our athletic department."

Francesca Stoppa helped lead the squad to its 11th straight academic nod from the CSCAA as the recipient of three consecutive CSCAA Scholar All-America awards and three straight Academic All-Big Ten honors. SeniorsÂ
Vera Koprivova and
Rachel Byrne also pulled in their third Academic All-Big Ten award this past winter, as 71 percent of eligible student-athletes (12-of-17) made Academic All-Big Ten from the Rutgers swimming and diving team.

In the pool this season, Rutgers recorded 21 new entries into the program's all-time Top 10 times and scores list. The 2018-19 season also included six dual meet wins, two invitational titles, three Big Ten medals and four NCAA Championships qualifiers.
