Volleyball 2019 Season Preview

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Aug. 28, 2019) - Before the grueling gauntlet of the Big Ten volleyball schedule even begins, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights fight an important battle "On the Banks."
It's the conquest against limitations. All excuses, distractions and obstacles are cast aside as the Scarlet Knights enter training camp at the historic College Avenue Gymnasium. Thirteen student-athletes strive to vanquish limitations as individuals, so that one unit will emerge with the widest possible breadth of responsibilities and understanding of the game.
"We have to be good at everything," said 12th-year head coach CJ Werneke. "We can't be limited in what we're asked to do at one single position. We have to know everyone's role and have zero limitations as a player in a position, with a constant awareness of how the team functions as a whole."
