PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men's soccer team is back in Philadelphia on Monday to take on Drexel at 6 p.m. at Vidas Fied.

- The Rutgers men's soccer team opened the 2019 season with a 1-0 victory at Temple on Thursday night.
- Freshman Jørgen Wisth Lie coverted a PK against the Owls in the 51st minute for the only score of the game after freshman Chris Tiao was taken down inside the box.
- Lie's goal was not only the Norway native's first collegiate goal and game-winner, but marked the first game-winning goal by a Scarlet Knight freshman in a season opener since 2014.
- Freshman Oren Asher logged his first career clean sheet with five saves in his Scarlet Knight debut.
- The Scarlet Knights improved to 39-30-10 all-time in season openers.
- It was the first Rutgers season opening win since 2015 in a 4-2 win over Siena at Yurcak Field and the first season opening shutout since 2014 in a 1-0 victory over UMKC at home.
- Six newcomers appeared in the staring XI – Oren Asher, Hugo Le Guennec, Jørgen Wisth Lie, Jackson Temple, Chris Tiao and Randy Arronis.
- Also making first career appearances were Keegan Vedder, Valentino Ambrosio and Anthony O'Donnell.

- Drexel opened up the 2019 season on Friday night with a 2-1 overtime setback at Binghamton.
- Sophomore forward Chris Donovan put the the Dragons up 1-0 only 28 seconds into the second half, but the Bearcats tied up the game in the 79th minute and put away the game-winner four minutes into overtime.
- Last season the Dragons went 9-5-3 ,including a 5-3-1 mark at Vidas Field and welcome back nine starters.
- Donovan, who scored Drexel's lone goal on Friday, was tabbed to the CAA Preseason Season.
- Appearing in all 17 games for the Dragons as a freshman with 15 starts, Donovan was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team in 2018 and finished third on the team with nine points (3G, 3A).
- Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Stephen Kopsachilis got the start in net for the Dragons at Binghamton making eight saves.
- Last season, Kopsachilis held down a 1.01 goals against average in 14 appearances, including six shutouts.
