Jan 27 | Men's Basketball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 24/25 Rutgers men's basketball made program history as it was announced that the upcoming game on Tuesday against Purdue is sold-out. The capacity crowd will mark a fifth consecutive sell-out for the first time in the history of The RAC.
The sell-out is Rutgers' eighth of the year overall, with the game versus Purdue joining contests against No. 22 Seton Hall, No. 20 Penn State, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Michigan and No. 21 Illinois. The eight sell-outs tie for the most sell-outs in the regular season in program history, also having been done during the 1998-99 season.
The Scarlet Knights boast a 14-0 record at The RAC, the nation's best home record. There are five remaining home games scheduled at the venue, with three already sold out. Limited tickets are remaining for the contests against Northwestern (February 9) and No. 17 Maryland (March 3), and Rutgers athletics officials encourage fans to purchase their tickets to those games as soon as possible. For additional ticket options, fans can also visit Stubhub, the official Fan-to-Fan Marketplace of Rutgers Athletics.
The Scarlet Knights have claimed five conference home wins this season, their most since the 2003-04 campaign. Rutgers is 21st in the NCAA NET rankings, 27th in the Pomeroy Ratings and 32nd in the Sagarin Ratings. The Scarlet Knights remaining schedule is rated third nationally in difficulty per the BPI.
The matchup with the Boilermakers will tip-off at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will be televised on BTN with Dave Revsine and Seth Davis on the call.
