Women’s Hoops Trip to Spain Open to Fans
Jan 28 | Women's Basketball
Scarlet Knights will play three games during a tour of Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2020) – The Rutgers women's basketball team will embark on a foreign tour to Spain this summer from August 6-15, highlighted by stops in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona. The Scarlet Knights will immerse themselves in the culture through educational tours and sightseeing excursions, while also playing three games against local teams.
Family and fans of the Scarlet Knights are able to book a trip alongside the team through the Basketball Travelers agency, which provides local tour guides, charter bus transportation, four-star hotels, tickets to all three games, sightseeing tours and hotel breakfasts.
Madrid is the initial destination, the home of Plaza Mayor, Debod Temple, Gran Via, Palacio Real and Plaza de Espana. A sightseeing trip to the ancient city of Toledo is on the agenda before Game No. 1 on Aug. 8 and an Aug. 9 departure to Valencia, a city highlighted by Old Town, the Central Market, Cathedral, Silk Exchange and the City of Arts and Science. Following Game No. 2 on Aug. 10, Rutgers heads to the final destination of Barcelona, where Park Guell, Sagrada Familia and a beach day await, along with Game No. 3 on Aug. 12.
The deadline for family and fans to book the trip is March 15.
If fewer than 20 fans sign up by the application deadline, Basketball Travelers reserves the right to cancel the fan tour and refund the package price. No deviations are available to the scheduled packages. Ground packages do not include airport transfers to and from hotel or airport. This tour will have a considerable amount of walking involved, necessitating confirmation you are physically able to participate in the tour. Prices do not include airfare, passport costs, trip insurance, meals (except hotel breakfast), luggage, or incidentals.
