Track and Field Finishes Weekend at Arkansas and Boston Meets

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field wrapped up its final tune up ahead of the Big Ten Championships with trips to Arkansas' Tyson Invitational and Boston's David Hemery/Valentine Invitational Feb. 14-15. The Scarlet Knights registered a total of 12 top-10 finishes across the weekend's events.
Down south at Arkansas, sophomore Taj Burgess finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 46.39. The 4x400m relay team consisting of Nadale Buntin, Jameson Woodell, Semaj Willis and Burgess finished sixth with a result of 3:10.03. Also on the track, sophomore Reanda Richards clocked a personal best time of 54.51 in the 400m.
In field events, junior Perry Christie notched a mark of 2.16m (7' 1") in the high jump invitational, finishing fourth. Willis leaped to a mark of 2.00m (6' 6.75") in the high jump, also finishing fourth in that event.
Junior Courteney Campbell placed eighth in the high jump, reaching a mark of 1.72m. In the triple jump freshman Claudine Smith recorded a mark of 12.23m (40' 1.5"), finishing ninth in the event.

Leading RU up at Boston, sophomore Icisys Sadler placed third in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.75. Freshman Sydney Hawkins finished fourth in the 60m in the 7.73. In field events, sophomore Jasmine Van Note finished fifth in the shot put, notching a throw of 13.85m (45' 5.25").
On the men's side, senior Patrick Warren finished in the top 10 of the long jump with a leap of 6.94m (22' 9.25"). The Scarlet Knights placed two in the top 10 of the shot put, as freshman Kyle Lipscomb led the way with a throw of 15.88m (52' 1.25"). Sophomore Adam Hunt followed with a mark of 15.00m (49' 2.5) to round out the top finishers.
Junior Billy Hill recorded a time of 4:07.76 in the mile, a PR and time two seconds off the school record in the event. Classmate Eric Barnes produced a personal-best of 1:52.67 in the 800m. In the 3000m, senior Cole Pschunder (8.17.94) and junior Patrick Walsh (8:22.06) added PRs of their own.
