IOWA CITY, Iowa – A silver medal and a Rutgers record highlighted day three results from the 2020 Big Ten Championships on Friday.

- Sophomore Terka Grusova won her preliminary heat in the 100 back and tied for the opening round's sixth fastest time with a season-best 52.93 to qualify for A finals racing.
- She then erased .62 seconds off her prelim time to touch the wall in 52.31 to become the Big Ten runner-up in the event.
- Later in the evening session, the Scarlet Knights set their third school record of the week as the 200 free relay team of three freshmen and a sophomore took seventh in the event. Elinah Phillip, Grusova, Giulia Ghidini and Sofia Chichaikina combined for a time of 1:30.33.
- Sophomore Kasja Dymek narrowly missed the evening's C finals of the 100 fly having been edged out in a swim-off for the final spot.
- On the 3 meter, freshman Sam Blanc led the diving corps scoring a 249.70 followed by sophomore Marina Wilkins with a 229.95. Rounding out Scarlet Knight diving performances on Friday were junior Lauren Boone with a 202.95 and sophomore Jenna Douglass scoring 198.70.
- The 200 free relay team bested the previous Rutgers benchmark of 1:31.61 set in 2006.
- Freshman Katelyn McCullough set new PR in 100 back, while Lizzie Zeller swam to a new personal best in the 200 free. Additionally, freshman Yael Weber and senior Francesca Bertotto posted new top times in the 400 IM. Meanwhile, sophomore Nora Woods PR-ed in her 100 fly performances while senior Sarah Davis registered a season best in the event.

On Saturday, the Scarlet Knights will race in the1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 free relay. Preliminaries begin at noon (ET) with finals underway at 7:30 p.m.
