Tennis Falls to Nebraska in Midweek Match

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers tennis dropped a 6-1 match against Nebraska on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.
The Scarlet Knights fought in doubles play, but were unable to clinch the point.
Junior Maya Jacobs and sophomore Kristiana Zahare battled Hayley Haakenstad and Kristina Novak in the No. 1 spot which ended 6-4.
In the No. 3 spot, senior Jaci Cochrane and sophomore Sydney Jones fell 6-3 to Chloe Kuckelman and Ellie Kuckelman.
In singles play, sophomore Tess Fisher took Novak into a third set in the No. 2 spot. After splitting the first two sets 2-6, 6-7 (7-4), Novak took the third set 10-2.
Claiming the lone team point for Rutgers in the No. 6 spot, Zahare also took her opponent, Haakenstad, into a third set and came out on top 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 10-8.
Rutgers tennis will hit the road this Sunday, Mar. 1 for the first of four straight away matches. The Scarlet Knights will take on the University of Delaware at 5:30 p.m. at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
