Tennis Falls to Minnesota on the Road

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Rutgers tennis fell 7-0 on Friday, Mar. 6 against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Baseline Tennis Center.

Doubles play against the Golden Gophers was not in favor of the Scarlet Knights. The duo of senior Kat Muzik and sophomore Tess Fisher, as well as sophomore Sydney Kaplan and senior Jaci Cochrane both fell 2-6 in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots respectively.
Sophomore Kristiana Zahare and junior Maya Jacobs were trailing just 4-5 in the No. 1 spot against Cammy Frei and Tina Kreinis, but the match went unfinished.

Fisher kept opponent Kreinis on her toes in the No. 2 spot after falling in the first set 4-6. Coming out strong in the second set, ultimately Fisher fell 5-7 and did not force a third set.

Rutgers will hit the road for a pair of spring break matches on Monday, Mar. 16 and Wednesday, Mar. 18 in Conway, South Carolina against Bradley and Coastal Carolina
respectively. Both matches are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
