PISCATAWAY, N.J.  – Three Scarlet Knights of Rutgers track & field have been selected for the 2020 NCAA DI Men's and Women's Indoor Championships set for March 13-14. Junior
Taj Burgess (400m), junior
Courteney Campbell (High Jump), and senior
Perry Christie (High Jump) will compete at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 7:15 p.m. Eastern time March 13 and starting at 6 p.m. Eastern time March 14. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 9 p.m. Eastern time Monday, March 16 on ESPNU. Live results will be available by

Burgess opens the championships on Friday in the 400 meters semifinal at 8:10 p.m. ET. The finals are set for Saturday at 6:50 p.m. ET. Burgess enters the meet with the 16th best time in the field at 46.17. The junior placed fourth at the 2020 Big Ten Indoor Championships, clocking a time of 46.44 to earn a podium spot.

Campbell and Christie will take action on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. ET in the high jump final. Christie qualified with a program record 2.23m (7' 3.75") in the event, sitting at 10th in the NCAA. The senior earned a bronze medal in the event at Big Ten's, registering a 2.18m (7' 1.75").

Campbell brings a school record 1.80m (5' 10.75') to the competition, ranking 16th in the field. The junior recorded a podium finish at the conference championships, finishing sixth with a mark of 1.73m (5' 8").Â

It marks the first time the Rutgers men have sent two individual competitors to the NCAA Indoor Championships. The last time RU competed in two events at Indoors was in 1980-81 when Eugene Norman qualified for the 55m hurdles and the 4x800m team of Brian Grimes, Stan Belin, Walter Kirkland, and James Westman won the national title.

Burgess is the third Scarlet Knight to qualify for the 400m, joining Tom Ulan (1969-70, 1970-71) and Jermaine Griffith (2016-17). Christie is second to qualify in the high jump, as Tom Howell first did so in 1974-75. Overall, it is the RU men's first representation at indoors since 2016-17.

Campbell is the first indoor qualifier for the women's side since 2016. She is the first Scarlet Knight to qualify in the high jump in women's program history.
