- The Scarlet Knights have opened the Big Ten slate with a tough schedule meeting six Top 25 programs in their first eight games. Rutgers is looking to rebound after a 3-1 setback against Penn State and a 3-0 loss to No. 7 Ohio State on the road.
- In the loss to Penn State, Rutgers earned its first set victory over the Nittany Lions since 2001 behind double-doubles by fifth-year senior Beka Kojadinovic (12k, 13d) and senior Inna Balyko (22a, 14d). Additionally, RU collected 13 blocks, led by Balyko's eight and seven from graduate student Megan Vernon for the most rejections by the Scarlet Knights since early September.
- Kojadinovic continues to lead the attack at 2.89 kills per set while adding 2.53 digs and 0.58 blocks per set for the defense. She is the rally-era leader in aces with 97 in her career "On The Banks" and needs 21 more to crack Rutgers' all-time top 10 list. She currently has a team-leading 21 in the 2021 season. Balyko is featured among the rally-era career top 10 checking in second in assists per set (8.85), third in service aces (88), fifth in digs (797), fourth in solo blocks (26) and fifth in block assists (226) and total blocks (252).
