OCTOBER 2, 2021 • ATTENDANCE: 51,006 PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football (3-2, 0-2) lost to No. 11 Ohio State (4-1, 2-0) by a score of 52-13 on Saturday afternoon in front of 51,006 fans at SHI Stadium. The game was presented by Provident Bank. Quarterback Noah Vedral completed 16-of-26 passes for 152 yards, which included a season-long 75-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Aron Cruickshank in the first half. Cruickshank finished with a team-high 194 all-purpose yards. Wide receiver Joshua Youngblood added his first career receiving touchdown with a 12-yard scoring reception in the second half. Defensively, linebacker Olakunle Fatukasi produced 10 tackles and a pass breakup, his fifth consecutive game with eight or more stops to begin the season. Linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams contributed six tackles, a pass breakup and a tackle-for-loss against the Buckeyes.  PARTICIPATION Career Debut (5): DB Desmond Igbinosun, DL Rene Konga, DB Elijuwan Mack, DB Max Patterson, DL Cam'Ron Stewart WR Bo Melton, LS Billy Taylor and DL Julius Turner all played in their 50th game as a Scarlet Knight.  UP NEXT Rutgers hosts No. 17 Michigan State on Oct. 9 at SHI Stadium.
