Football Loses to No. 11 Ohio State

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football (3-2, 0-2) lost to No. 11 Ohio State (4-1, 2-0) by a score of 52-13 on Saturday afternoon in front of 51,006 fans at SHI Stadium. The game was presented by Provident Bank.

Quarterback Noah Vedral completed 16-of-26 passes for 152 yards, which included a season-long 75-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Aron Cruickshank in the first half. Cruickshank finished with a team-high 194 all-purpose yards. Wide receiver Joshua Youngblood added his first career receiving touchdown with a 12-yard scoring reception in the second half.

Defensively, linebacker Olakunle Fatukasi produced 10 tackles and a pass breakup, his fifth consecutive game with eight or more stops to begin the season. Linebacker Tyreek Maddox-Williams contributed six tackles, a pass breakup and a tackle-for-loss against the Buckeyes.
