| ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS |
- The Scarlet Knights have opened the Big Ten slate with a tough schedule meeting four Top 25 programs in their first six games. Rutgers is looking to rebound after a 3-0 setback at Maryland on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights were led by fifth-year senior Beka Kojadinovic with eight kills and senior Inna Balyko's sixth double-double of the year with 27 assists and 10 digs.
- Last time against Indiana, a 3-1 setback, the Scarlet Knights fell just short of forcing a fifth and deciding set at home against the Hoosiers back on Oct. 8. Fifth-year senior Kamila Cieslik led RU with a season-high 12 kills and 10 digs for her first double-double since 2019. Additionally, senior Anastasiia Maksimova was just shy of a double-double with 11 kills and nine digs. Kojadinovic, meanwhile, set a new career benchmark in digs with 19.
- On the season, Kojadinovic continues to lead the attack at 2.88 kills per set while adding 2.51 digs and 0.58 blocks per set for the defense. She is the rally-era leader in aces with 98 in her career "On The Banks" and needs 19 more to crack Rutgers' all-time top 10 list. She currently has a team-leading 22 in the 2021 season. Last season she served up 10 aces against Michigan State setting a Rutgers record and tying for the second-most in a game in Big Ten history. She recently cracked the top 10 in rally-era career blocks and currently ranks eighth in the category with 191 career rejections.
- Redshirt senior Shealyn McNamara, meanwhile, continues to lead defense and factors in offensively. She has totaled 1.24 total blocks this season and ranks 10th in the Big Ten at 1.24 per set. In her two seasons "On The Banks", she has placed her name second among career rally-era stats at 1.04 blocks per set.
- Senior Inna Balyko, RU's first-ever First Team All-Big Ten selection who is fifth all-time and second in the rally era in assists, is averaging 8.57 helpers per frame and surpassed the 3,000 career assist in RU's matchup with the Badgers back on Sept. 25. Last time out against Maryland, she also surpassed the 800 career dig mark.
- Sophomore Madyson Chitty is collecting 3.71 digs per set for the defense and in just 20 games into her second season "On The Banks" is fourth in the rally era in digs per set.
