Men’s Golf Opens Spring at Big Ten Match Play Championship

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's golf begins its 2021 spring season on Friday and Saturday at the 2021 Big Ten Match Play Championship in Palm Coast, Florida. The No. 6 seed Scarlet Knights will face No. 11 seed Wisconsin in the opening round Friday morning for an 8 a.m. ET shotgun start at the Hammock Beach Resort.
Twelve teams have been drawn into a single-elimination bracket, with the seeds determined using the Nov. 11, 2020, final fall Golfstat rankings. Each team match will consist of six individual matches. The winner between Rutgers and Wisconsin will face No. 3 seed Purdue Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET. Opening Round: No. 6 Rutgers vs. No. 11 Wisconsin – 8 a.m. ET
Quarterfinals: 1 p.m. ET

Whatley went 3-0 in his head-to-head matchups during the two-day tournament, while Gotterup picked up wins over two Top 200 opponents. Marcoux also registered a 2&1 win against Indiana last year.

Consolation Round: Indiana defeats Rutgers, 3-2-1
