Gymnastics Returns Home for Senior Day on Saturday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers gymnastics welcomes Penn State for its final regular season meet on Saturday, March 13 at the RAC. Start time is set for 1 p.m. ET live on Big Ten Network+.
Live results of the meet will be available, as well as live score updates @RUGymnastics on Twitter.
The meet marks Senior Day for the Scarlet Knights, as RU will honor seniors Sophia Atienza, Emily Drauss, Belle Huang, and Toni Williams in a post-meet ceremony.
Rutgers will also welcome back some of the 2020 class of letterwinners to be honored, including Shannon Farrell, Kaitlyn Hall, Rachel Ley, Erin McLachlan, and Polina Poliakova. The Scarlet Knights will also recognize senior managers Chloe DeVries and Emma Karas of the 2020 graduates.

All events at Rutgers Athletics venues for the 2020-21 competition year will operate in accordance with current statewide restrictions on indoor and outdoor public gatherings. Access to events will be limited to athletes, coaches, trainers and other necessary game day personnel. As a result, gymnastics meets will not be open to the public this season. - Rutgers competed in two meets last week, including trips to Maryland and Ohio State.
- Highlighting RU's outing in the quad meet at OSU, sophomore Hannah Joyner recorded a school record on beam with a mark of 9.950 to take the event title. Joyner has posted a score of 9.9 or better on beam 10 times as a Scarlet Knight, adding to a total of 13 marks of 9.9 or higher across all four events in her young career.
- At Maryland, Rutgers recorded a total of nine top three event finishes. Joyner led the way with first place on beam, second place on bars, second place in all-around, third place on vault and third place on floor.
- Freshman Stephanie Zannella shared the event title on beam with a career high of 9.875, while sophomore Jenna Ferguson finished third on vault with a career high of her own at 9.775. Freshman Avery Balser placed second on bars and senior Belle Huang placed third in the all-around to round out RU's top three finishers at UMD.
