Volleyball Back on BTN on Wednesday at Maryland

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Rutgers volleyball team is back on national television on Wednesday meeting the Maryland Terrapins on BTN at 7 p.m.
Rutgers and Maryland will be trading courts. The Scarlet Knights host Maryland on Saturday, Mar. 27 at 4 p.m. at the College Ave Gym. Yana Kamshilina and Mary Kate Painter will be honored on "Senior Knight" prior to the start of the contest.
Due to COVID-19 safety protocols as of March 1, fan attendance at the College Ave Gym is limited to four tickets allotted to each coach and student-athlete for family members only.

| ABOUT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS |
- Senior Beka Kojadinovic continues to lead the Scarlet Knights attack at 2.68 k/s and swung for a career-high tying 18 kills in Friday's four-set setback to No. 10 Purdue. SHe leads RU with three double-doubles on the season.
- Following on the stat sheet on the attack is junior Anastasiia Maksimova is at 2.44 k/s
- Junior Inna Balyko ranks eighth in the Big Ten in assists with 8.16 a/s and moved up to fifth all-time at Rutgers in the category against then-No. 19 Ohio State. She is second all-time in assists in the rally scoring era with 2,416 helpers.
- In addition to leading Rutgers in kills, Kojadinovic also leads the Scarlet Knights at the service line with 19 aces. Balyko, meanwhile, has served up 14 aces. Both had four aces in the Scarlet Knights' five-set contest versus Ohio State.
- Redshirt junior Shealyn McNamara continues to lead the defense at the net with 48 total and 0.84 b/s. Earlier this year she registered nine rejections (1 solo, 8 assist) in the 3-1 victory over Indiana.
- Also on the defense, freshman libero Madyson Chitty is collecting 2.40 d/s and has posted double-digit digs in five of the last nine matches. The rookie Scarlet Knight also had a notable performance last time at the College Ave Gym having collected a career-high 19-dig performance against No. 10 Purdue.
| SCOUTING MARYLAND |
- The Terps welcome the Scarlet Knights with a 4-12 mark having dropped a pair of matches at Illinois last weekend. The losses snapped a three-game win streak, Maryland's longest since joining the Big Ten in 2014.
- Senior Erika Pritchard leads the Terps at 3.48 k/s and is currently second all-time at Maryland in kills and points. She is 10th in the league kills and sixth in service aces with 24.
- Aiding on the attack is senior Nicole Alford at 6.53 a/s.
- On defense, senior Sam Burgio is the conference's leader in digs at 4.44 d/s while junior Rainelle Jones is second in blocking with 1.41 b/s with 90 total stops on the season.
| NOTES FROM THE PURDUE SERIES |
- Rutgers took a third set victory in Friday's matchup with No. 10 Purdue marking the second set win over a top 10 program this season and the first time ever with a set win over more than one Big Ten top ten team. The Scarlet Knights also had a set win against No. 7 Minnesota in 2019 and No. 2 Wisconsin in 2014 as well as one earlier this year versus No. 4 Nebraska.
- The Scarlet Knights set season-highs in a four-set matchup with Beka Kojadinovic's 18 kills, Anastasiia Maksimova's 41 attempts, Inna Balyko's 50 assists and Madyson Chitty's 19 digs. RU also had four-set season-bests for team kills (58), attempts (160) and assists (55).
- Kojadinovic tied her career-high with 18 kills in the four-set first game with the Boilermakers, the second most kills against a Big Ten opponent in a game since joining the league in 2014. Only Meme Fletcher has more kills in a Big Ten contest with 25 against Maryland in 2015. Kojadinovic also had 18 kills against Princeton back on Sept. 6, 2019.
- Chitty's 19 digs were the most by a Scarlet Knight this season in the four-set setback and a season-high for the freshman. Her previous high was 17 in the five-set loss to No. 19 Ohio State. The 19 digs were also the most by a Scarlet Knight in a Big Ten contest since Kamila Cieslik's 19 at Indiana in 2017.
- Balyko's 50 assists were the third most in a Big Ten matchup for the Scarlet Knights. She holds the top three spots having registered 54 earlier this season in a win over Iowa and 52 in last year's victory over Northwestern.
