Brown Picks Up Singles Win at Wisconsin

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers tennis faced a 6-1 setback on the road at Wisconsin Friday evening. Although the Badgers collected the doubles point and five singles, freshman Chloe Brown picked up her second singles win of the season for the Scarlet Knights.
At the No. 4 singles spot, Brown topped her opponent in two sets by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), marking the second Big Ten victory of her young career.
Freshman Alisa Prinyarux and redshirt senior Jaci Cochrane battled in three set singles matches, while senior Maya Jacobs fought through a tight 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) matchup at the No. 1 spot.
Rutgers' three freshmen continue to make an impact in the lineup. Brown appeared in her fifth straight match for RU, entering the lineup in both doubles and singles. Prinyarux appeared in her fifth straight match in doubles, as well as her second in singles. Classmate Daira Cardenas entered her third dual match in singles action.
Up next, the Scarlet Knights travel to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers on Sunday, March 7.
