Brown and Cochrane Claim Singles Wins over Iowa

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Freshman Chloe Brown and redshirt-senior Jaci Cochrane picked up singles victories for Rutgers tennis in a 5-2 setback against Iowa on Friday afternoon at the Rutgers Tennis Complex. The Hawkeyes took the match with the doubles point and four singles wins.
Although the Hawkeyes earned a 6-2 win at the No. 1, the Scarlet Knights were closing in on slim margins of 5-4 at the No. 2 spot and 4-5 at the No. 3 spot. Iowa edged out the win at the No. 2 spot for the team point and an early 1-0 edge in the match.
In singles, Brown battled to a 7-5, 6-2 victory at the No. 5 spot for Rutgers. Cochrane rallied a singles win as well with a 6-2, 7-6 (5) win at the No. 6 spot.
Up next, Rutgers wraps up its home regular season schedule, hosting Nebraska on Sunday, April 11 at 11:30 a.m.
