Men’s Basketball to Host Clemson in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Scarlet Knights to host Clemson at RAC on November 30 in rematch of 2021 NCAA Tournament

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's basketball will host Clemson on Tuesday, November 30 at the RAC in the 23rd edition of the Big Ten/ACC Men's Basketball Challenge.

The matchup will be a rematch between two teams that played in the First Round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. The No. 10 seed Scarlet Knights defeated No. 7 seed Clemson, 60-56, to earn the program's first NCAA Tournament victory since 1983. In that contest, Caleb McConnell had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead RU to the victory. Rutgers is 2-2 in the all-time series against Clemson, also earning a road win in 2014 in the program's first time playing in the challenge.

The Scarlet Knights are 3-4 lifetime in seven years participating in the Big Ten / ACC Challenge. Last season, Rutgers earned a 79-69 home win over Syracuse, led by a 26-point outburst from Ron Harper Jr. pacing four players in double-figures, as the Scarlet Knights used a 17-4 run in the final 5:38 of the game to clinch the victory. RU also boasts road wins over Clemson (2014) and Miami (2018) in the program's history in the event.

All 14 games of the Big Ten – ACC Challenge will air on ESPN's networks and be available to stream via the ESPN app. Game times and networks will be announced at a future point.

The Scarlet Knights enter the upcoming campaign fresh off a historic campaign where RU made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1991. Rutgers defeated No. 7 seed Clemson to capture the program's first NCAA Tournament victory in 38 years, cementing a successful campaign that saw the program spend 11 weeks nationally ranked or receiving votes in the AP Poll, peaking at No. 11 in the nation.

New season tickets are currently available, with limited tickets available. The team's Big Ten opponents for the upcoming season was announced previously, while RU will also travel to Seton Hall (Garden State Hardwood Classic) and DePaul (Gavitt Tipoff Games) in nonconference action. More information will be revealed on the full schedule at a later date.
