Bridgett, Burgess Set to Compete at NCAA Track & Field Championships on Wednesday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Redshirt-sophomore A'nan Bridgett and redshirt-junior Taj Burgess of Rutgers track & field are set to compete at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon. Bridgett will compete in the long jump final on Wednesday, June 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET, while Burgess will hit the track for the 400m semifinal at 9:30 p.m. ET as well.

Bridgett, a two-time NCAA qualifier in the long jump, advances to his first NCAA Championships. At the East Regional, he recorded a season-best mark of 7.70m (25' 3.25") to finish fourth in the field. The Princeton Junction, New Jersey, native is set for the event final on Wednesday.

Burgess, a three-time NCAA outdoor qualifier, advances to Nationals in the 400m for the third time. He clocked a time of 45.94 in the quarterfinals to finish in the Top 12 of the East Region. In the first round, he posted a PR of 45.55.
The Jersey City, New Jersey, native will race in the semifinal on Wednesday. The top two of each heat plus the next two best times will move on the final on Friday, June 11 at 9:02 p.m. ET.
