Cameron joins RU as a transfer from UNC
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse reported back to campus for the spring semester, gearing up for the start of classes and practices ahead of the 2022 spring season. The team finalized its roster for the semester with the addition of another transfer student-athlete, with Brian Cameron officially joining the program from the University of North Carolina.
Cameron completed his studies at UNC in December, joining the Scarlet Knights in January for the start of practice as a graduate transfer with multiple years of eligibility remaining. A native of Bedford, N.H, Cameron played in 38 games (15 starts) over three seasons with the Tar Heels. The attackman scored 38 goals and added 11 assists for 49 points over that time, collecting 47 ground balls and causing seven turnovers.
A member of two Tar Heels squads to make the NCAA Tournament, Cameron faced Rutgers last May in the NCAA Tournament in the Elite Eight, as the Scarlet Knights had a historic season to qualify for the Quarterfinals for the first time since 1990. Cameron is the 17th newcomer to the roster for the upcoming season, joining a group of 10 freshmen and six transfers that were previously announced in the fall.
