The Doctor Is In
Since transferring to Rutgers in the offseason from High Point, MD Myers has flourished as one of the nation's leading forwards.
Myers stands out when looking around the nation as he tied to lead the NCAA with 13 goals through 16 games this season. He also ranks third in both shots on goal per game (2.00) and total points (30) in addition to fourth in goals per game (0.81) and points per game (1.88).
In the Big Ten, Myers paces the league in four of six offensive categories including: goals (13), points (30), shots (55) and shots on goal (32).
The senior forward is the only player in the league to reach 10+ goals in addition to 20+ points. He leads the scoring runner up by five tallies and the second-most points getter by 13.
After his performance against Michigan (Oct. 21), The Delran, New Jersey native was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the second for RU this season.
No surprise here.

With one regular season matchup still to play, Myers has already solidified himself in the record books. His 30 points ranks tied for 17th all-time while his 13 goals are tied for 13th in a single season. He is also the first Scarlet Knight to reach the 30-point milestone in a single season since Jordan Hall ended the 2018 season with 30 points.

Looking Into the Bruins

Saturday's contest will mark the ninth meeting between the two programs, and first since 2011, where UCLA owns the 6-1-1 all-time edge. Rutgers' only win came Oct. 14, 1990 with a 2-1 decision. However, later that same year on Dec. 2, UCLA defeated RU in PKs to win the 1990 NCAA National Championship.
Looking Ahead
The Scarlet Knights will host the Quarterfinals round of the 2022 Big Ten Tournament on Friday, Nov. 4. The match time and opponent will be determined on Sunday, Oct. 30 when the rest of the conference finishes play.
