| What to Know |
- In their last time out, the Scarlet Knights delivered a 20-15 win at Stanford and followed with a team trophy at the Roadrunner Open thanks to individual titles from Joe Heilmann (133), Tony White (141) and Boone McDermott (HWT).
- RU has an extensive history with both Drexel and Penn. Rutgers leads the all-time series with Penn, 19-11-1, and Drexel, 15-11. This will be the first meeting between the Scarlet Knights and the Quakers since 1996.
- Eight starters appear in this week's set of rankings, including three in the Top 15 - No. 8 Sammy Alvarez (141), No. 12 Brian Soldano (184) and No. 14 Joe Heilmann (133). The trio is a combined 11-1 in dual action this season.
- The Garden State Grapple continues Rutgers' unusual long road stretch. The Scarlet Knights opened their dual season on Nov. 11 against Clarion at home, but do not return to campus for competition until Jan. 20 against Michigan State.
- RU has eight individuals who have qualified for at least one NCAA Championship and three who own All-America laurels - Sammy Alvarez (2020), John Poznanski (2021) and Jackson Turley (2021). Poznanski and Billy Janzer (197) are the only two-time NCAA qualifiers on the roster.
- Head coach Scott Goodale picked up the 200th win of his career when RU defeated Clarion, 29-4, on Nov. 11 at the College Ave. Gym. Goodale is the program's all-time wins lead with 202 during his 16-year career at the helm of the program.
