PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field opens a new season on Friday, Dec. 2 for the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York. The Scarlet Knights will host teams from around the region in the one-day meet.
 
Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. with the men's 5,000-meter on the track while the first field event of the day is the men's and women's long jump at 10:45 a.m. Live results are available here.
 
Rutgers is coming off a standout season in 2021-22 which saw 10 indoor records broken and several Scarlet Knights record top-10 marks in their respective events. On the season, RU earned four medals at the Big Ten Championships sent two Scarlet Knights to the NCAA Indoor Championship.
 
A'nan Bridgett returns for his final season 'On the Banks' after winning indoor gold at the Big Ten Championships last season. Sophomore Chloe Timberg earned silver in the pole vault and senior Courteney Campbell took silver in the high jump at the conference meet. The team had a combined 12 podium finishes at the 2022 Big Ten Indoor Championships.
 
RU sent two Scarlet Knights to the NCAA Indoor Championships for the third-straight year as Bridgett and sophomore Sincere Robinson qualified in the long jump. Bridgett made his second appearance at the national championship where he finished fourth to earn First Team All-America honors.
 
Sophomore distance runner Alex Carlson is poised to add to her record-breaking freshman season as she set four indoor marks in the 800-meter, 1,000-meter, mile and 3,000-meter. She was also part of two school-record-holding relay teams in the 4x800-meter (Shelby Whetstone, Kiera Nealon and Brooke Riedy) and distance medley relay (Lou Mialhe, Charlee Crawford and Whetstone).
 
Jasmine Van Note, who broke her previous school record in the shot put last season, returns to lead a solid throws group.
