Swimming To Compete at Brown's NCAA Qualifier Meet

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's swimming is send five Scarlet Knights to Brown's NCAA Qualifier Meet on Saturday for a chance to collect times to better position themselves to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
Sofia Chichaikina, Katie Dougherty, Sofia Lobova, Alice Scarabelli and Eleonora Trentin will be in the water racing in hopes of making the championships being held in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16-19.
Rutgers women's swimming & diving is coming off its most successful Big Ten Championships appearance with its highest finish to date and 10 podium finishes.
During the 2022 championships, Lobova set a new Rutgers record in the 50 free and Scarabelli set a new school record in the 200 free with both Scarlet Knights also establishing new bests with the relay squads. Scarabelli joined teammates Chichaikina and Trentin in establishing new Scarlet Knight records in the 400 and 800 freestyle and teamed up with Lobova for a new Rutgers top time in the 200 medley relay. Scarabelli and Lobova also both swam alongside Chichaikina for a RU record in the 400 medley relay.
Other top performances from last week's championship included top 10 swims from Chichaikina in the 50 and 200 free as well as the 200 fly, Scarabelli in the 100 free and 100 back, Trentin in the 50 and 100 free and Lobova in the 50 free.
Earlier this season, Katie Dougherty cracked the Rutgers top 10 in the 200 fly at Nebraska.
