Tennis Falls to Penn on the Road

PHILADELPHIA, PA. āĀ Competing in its third road match over the last six days and across three different states, Rutgers tennis fell to Penn on Sunday afternoon by a score of 4-0. The match was rescheduled from January 29 of this season, being added to the Scarlet Knights week-long spring break trip.Ā
Although sophomores Daira Cardenas and Alisa Prinyarux were ahead at No. 3 doubles, the Quakers were able to manage wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles first to claim the team team point.
The Scarlet Knights found momentum in singles play. Senior Kristiana Zahare was playing strong at No. 6 singles, having won the first set by a score of 6-3.Ā Zahare was then leading in the second, 4-3, before Penn clinched the match. Ā
Freshman Minchae Kim had also securedĀ win in her first set at No. 4 singles by a score of 7-5Ā and was in her second set when the match was settled at 4-0.

Rutgers is back on the road to resume Big Ten play, visiting Northwestern on Saturday, March 26 and Illinois on Sunday, March 27.
