Scarlet Knights ranked for first time since 2010
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 11, 2022) – For the first time since 2010, the Rutgers baseball team is ranked by a major outlet, coming in at No. 22 in Monday afternoon's Collegiate Baseball Newspaper rankings.
The last time RU was ranked was when the team was slotted at No. 21 by Collegiate Baseball on April 21, 2010.
The national ranking comes on the heels of 10 straight wins by the Scarlet Knights, who now sit at 25-6 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten. They most recently finished off a sweep at Nebraska, the second of back-to-back Big Ten sweeps.
RU sits alone atop the conference standings, with its .889 conference winning percentage the best mark in the league.
The Scarlet Knights continue to lead the Big Ten in hitting, pitching and fielding, with their marks in AVG (.322), ERA (3.11) and fielding percentage (.980) setting the standard in the conference.
Rutgers is back in action for six straight home games starting this week, as the team hosts Lafayette on Tuesday and Penn on Wednesday.
Admission and parking are free at Bainton Field, but all vehicles are required to be registered to comply with Rutgers University policy. Only one registration per vehicle is needed for the season.
