PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Cassidy Spilis and rookie Emalie Clothier earned Big Ten Weekly honors, announced Tuesday by the conference office. Spilis secured Big Ten Midfielder of the Week laurels for the third consecutive time, while Clothier was named Big Ten Rookie of the Week for the first time this season.

It marks her fifth Big Ten weekly honor, as she also netted both rookie and offensive conference accolades in 2021. The Tewaaraton Award Top 25 member scored three goals, including the game-winner, to help the Scarlet Knights defeat the Buckeyes in Columbus. Down by three goals midway through the third quarter, Spilis contributed three goals in the second half to spark a 6-1 scoring run to close out the win. Spilis also added five ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers against OSU.
Clothier produced a season-high two turnovers at Ohio State, which included one to set up Spilis' game-winning goal with 2:42 left in the fourth quarter. Clothier has appeared in all 17 games for the Scarlet Knights during her rookie campaign and has started the last five.
