
Gianna Glatz Honored at NCAA Convention

Field Hockey Alumn Receives Today's Top 10 Award
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Rutgers field hockey alumn Gianna Glatz was honored on Wednesday night during the annual NCAA Convention. Glatz was a recipient of the prestigous "Today's Top 10 Award" The 2021 NFHCA Scholar All-American was recognized on-stage among her fellow honorees in recognition of her achievements on the field and most importantly her selfless dedication off the field.
Glatz was presented on-stage with her award from Rutgers' Athletic Director Pat Hobbs. She attended the event with her parents as well as Rutgers' Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Kate Hickey.
"My leadership roles that I've developed at Rutgers as a team captain and SAAC president will serve me well going forward," Glatz explained in a video that played at the ceremony. "Understanding individual differences and how to communicate with people based on their personalities is something that is super important."
Glatz was one of the most accomplished student-athletes in Rutgers' field hockey program history, both on and off the field. A multiple time First Team All-American, she was the Big Ten Co-Player of the Year as a senior while earning Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors as she led the Scarlet Knights to the first Big Ten Tournament team title in school history. She was also the NFHCA National Scholar Athlete and Wayne Duke Postgraduate Scholarship winner. A full and lengthy list of Glatz's accolades can be found here.
