COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Rutgers women's soccer (6-5-3, 2-3-1) defeated Maryland (3-6-5, 0-5-1) by a 1-0 score on Saturday evening at Ludwig Field following Kylie Daigle's successful penalty conversion in the 85th minute.

SCORING SUMMARY
- Rutgers maintained possession deep in Maryland territory looking to break the stalemate in the 85th minute when Daigle received the ball and was tripped up near the corner of the box. Daigle stepped up to the spot and buried her first goal of the season.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Ashley Baran nearly broke the deadlock in the 84th minute, hitting a volley from close range that forced a diving save by the Maryland keeper. It was the second time Baran forced save following her early attempt in the third minute of the contest.
- Allison Lynch had a dangerous attempt stopped off a corner kick in the 22nd minute.
- In the 31st minute, Rutgers rattled off a series of shots by Sara Brocious and Riley Tiernan that were blocked, then the follow-up attempt by Allison Lowrey was saved off the line by a Terp defender with the keeper off the line.
