PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers' field hockey's
Puck Winter and
Iris Langejans added to their ever-growing list of awards following the 2023 season. The duo, who were named All-Americans earlier this week by the NFHCA, was each named All-ECAC, with Winter on the First Team and Langejans on the Second Team.Â
Winter had a stellar campaign as a redshirt sophomore. This season, she has previously been named Second Team All-American, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Ten and First Team All-Region. A native of Deventer, Netherlands, Winter had 12 defensive saves on the season, tying for the nation's lead. Winter also scored eight goals, second on the team. She was named a two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and was the NFHCA National Defensive Player of the Week following the team's wins over No. 9 Ohio State and Michigan State.
Langejans was named First Team All-American, Mid-Atlantic Region Player of the Year, First Team All-Region, Big Ten Player of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten (unanimous selection) and to the NFHCA's Senior Game, as well as the Synapse Sports Defensive Player of the Year. The Almelo, Netherlands native impacted the game at all levels this season, starting all 20 games at back, where she helped RU allow just 1.4 goals per game. She added one goal and six assists this season, and the redshirt senior has five goals and 15 assists in her 61 game Rutgers career. Langejans was also selected for the NFHCA's Senior Game.
