Softball Shutout In Game Two Of Indiana Series

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Indiana took game two of the weekend series with Rutgers Softball on Saturday afternoon at the Rutgers Softball Complex. The Hoosiers shut out the Scarlet Knights, 9-0.
RU fell to 30-19 overall and 7-9 in the Big Ten. Indiana improved to 33-15 overall and 11-5 in league action.

| STATISTICALLY SPEAKING |
- The Scarlet Knights collected three hits in the loss from Kyleigh Sand, Morgan Smith and Ryann Orange. Orange connected on her second career triple in the fifth inning.
- Jaden Vickers dropped to 9-6 inside the circle throwing 2.1 innings, while Georgia Ingle tossed 2.2 innings.
| THE RUNDOWN |
- Indiana came out of the gate with four runs off a three-run triple to right by Stone and RBI single by Avery Parker.
- The Hoosiers added three more to the scoreboard in the top of the third. Brianna Copeland delivered a solo home run to left center, while a sacrifice fly from Brooke Benson added another run with Cassidy Kettleman able to sneak home with the Scarlet Knights putting Kinsey Mitchell in a rundown between first and second on the play.
- The visitors tacked two more in the fifth with RBIs base hits by Taryn Kern and Taylor Minnick.
