Head coach
Steve Pikiell and his staff have completed an impressive rebuild of the men's basketball program since taking over in 2016. In 2022-23, the Scarlet Knights made postseason play for the third consecutive season for the first time in school history.
The Scarlet Knights guaranteed their fourth-consecutive winning season in 2022-23, a feat that had not been accomplished in over 30 years. The Scarlet Knights had their second-ever win against a No. 1 ranked team in Purdue. Rutgers had every starter receive Big Ten recognition and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (
Caleb McConnell) for the second-straight season.
