No. 18 Rowing Set for Eastern Sprints in Regular Season Finale

Scarlet Knights set to compete in 18-team field

WORCESTER, Mass. – No. 18 Rutgers rowing heads to Lake Quinsigamond for the 2023 Eastern Sprints on Sunday, April 30 for its final event before championship season. The Scarlet Knights will be part of an 18-team field, entering eight boats in the competition featuring heat and final rounds.
 
The event will be live streamed via LocalLive.tv. Click on Watch Live in the upper right corner of the screen. In the upper right corner click on the little person logo to the right of the search button. Log in if you have been on the site before or create an ID and password if you haven't. There is no fee for this broadcast. Near the top/middle of the screen with the locallive logo click on MA (for Massachusetts). In the drop down menu click on IRA Rowing. Click on the correct link for Saturday or Sunday's webcast. If you miss the live showing you can watch later by clicking "Recent Sports Events" after completing step #6.

In addition to No. 18 Rutgers, the event will feature boats from No. 5 Brown, Boston College, RV Boston University, Colgate, No. 20 Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, No. 15 Harvard, UMass, Marist, Michigan State, Northeastern, Rhode Island, No. 10 Syracuse, and Temple.

The top two boats in each heat will earn a trip to the grand finals in each event. The 2nd Varsity 4 will send three boats to the grand final from heat racing, and Rutgers' 2nd Novice 8 and two 3rd Varsity 4 boats will go straight to grand finals on Sunday afternoon.

9:20 a.m. - 2nd Varsity 8
9:50 a.m. - Novice 8 (racing with 3rd Varsity 8's) 
10:10 a.m. - 2nd Varsity 4

Grand Finals
1:05 p.m. - 2nd Novice 8 (racing in 4th Varsity 8)
1:15 p.m. - 3rd Varsity 4 (two Rutgers boats)
1:25 - 3:55 p.m. - All other finals

The Scarlet Knights claimed five victories at the Ivy League Invitational two weeks ago in Princeton racing against five nationally ranked teams. Following the racing on Lake Quinsigamond, Rutgers will prepare for the Big Ten Championships on Sun., May 14 at the Indianapolis Rowing Center.
