EAST LANSING, Mich. – No. 13 Rutgers wrestling (10-1, 3-0) recorded its eighth consecutive dual victory with its 22-13 win over RV Michigan State (7-2, 0-2) on Friday night in East Lansing. The Scarlet Knights worked a 6-4 match split with the Spartans at Jenison Field House to move to 3-0 in the Big Ten Conference for the first time since it joined the league in 2014-15.

"It has been a long three weeks with a lot of back to backs, and we did not wrestle as well as we would like. But we found a way to win because we are a pretty good team," said head coach
Scott Goodale. "We are excited about Sunday now. We have an incredible opportunity and we have to wrestle better."
- Peterson opened the dual against Tristan Lujan, working a takedown in sudden victory for the 4-1 decision. Shawver followed against Andy Hampton and landed seven takedowns en route to a 22-6 tech fall. Shawver's third consecutive tech fall in Big Ten dual action put Rutgers up 8-0 through its first two bouts of the night.
- No. 11 Mitch Moore (141) suffered his first loss of the season in his match with No. 33 Jordan Hamdan, as Michigan State added three points to the team score board.
- Cetta was up next against Braden Stauffenberg and wrestled tough to a 5-3 decision. Cetta's second Big Ten dual win made it 11-3 in favor of the Scarlet Knights.
- Al DeSantis (157) earned his third consecutive start, hitting a reversal in the first period and a takedown in the third before holding No. 21 Chase Saldate to just a 9-5 decision. Rutgers entered the break with an 11-6 lead.
- Anthony White (165) suffered a tight 6-1 loss to No. 10 Caleb Fish out of intermission, with MSU getting to with two points at 11-9 with four matches to go.
- Turley muscled a 4-2 decision over DJ Shannon before No. 20 Brian Soldano (184) lost a back-and-forth major decision to No. 22 Layne Malczewski, as the Spartans trailed just 14-13 through eight.
- Poznanski and Slavikouski secured to the dual with back-to-back wins. Poznanski landed seven takedowns for 22-6 tech fall over No. 29 Kael Wisler, while a 4-2 decision from Slavikouski gave Rutgers its 22-13 final score.
