PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer (9-2-3, 5-1-2) suffered its first Big Ten loss as No. 9 Iowa (11-1-3, 6-1-1) came away with the 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field.

The Hawkeyes scored a goal in each half, opening scoring in the 35th minute. Iowa added insurance in the 50th and held the score at 2-0.

Iowa maintained a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.

Allie Post took Rutgers' shots on target, all of which were saved by Iowa's Macy Enneking.

Three matches remain in the 2024 regular season. The Scarlet Knights play their final road match of the regular season on Thurs., Oct. 17 at Purdue at 7 p.m.

NOTES
- Rutgers' unbeaten streak ends at 10 matches. Their previous loss was a 1-0 result at UMass on Aug. 25.
- Rutgers took its first loss at home this season and is now 6-1-1 at Yurcak Field.
- Gabriela Gil was not available for the game due to a suspension for five accumulated yellow cards this season.
- Rutgers is 7-5-0 against Iowa since 2003 (the only meeting outside of Big Ten play starting in 2014). RU is 6-3 in Big Ten regular season play and 4-1 when the contest is played in Piscataway.
