WEST POINT, N.Y. – No. 17 Rutgers wrestling sent six attached student athletes to the 2024 Black Knight Invitational on Sunday in West Point, New York.
Andrew Clark (149) wrestled to a runner-up finish to highlight action for the Scarlet Knights at the all-day tournament.
Clark produced four wins – including a tech fall, major decision and two decisions – to advance to the finals at 149 pounds, where he faced No. 2 Shayne Van Ness (Penn State). Clark lost to Van Ness to place second.

Anthony White (165) also enjoyed a productive afternoon, picking up a ranked win over No. 26 Cesar Alvan (Columbia) by decision, 4-3. After a loss to reigning national champion Mitchell Mesenbrink (Penn State), White followed with a 11-2 major decision over DH Shannon (Michigan State) to finish third in his weight class.

Joe Fongaro (141),
Michael Cetta (149) and
Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) all competed and each produced at least one victory on the day. Soldano picked up two falls during his tournament run.
