Urkiel & Berecz Secure Wins For Swimming & Diving Against Purdue

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's swimming and diving captured 15 top-three finishes, including victories by Molly Urkiel in both the 100 and 200 breast and Blanka Berecz in the 200 fly against Purdue in Big Ten action on Friday afternoon at the Rutgers Aquatics Center.
The Boilermakers emerged with a 191.00-106.00 win.

| SPRINTS |
- Blanka Berecz led the sprints with a victory in the 200 fly with a 1.33-second margin win in 2:00.92.
- Molly Urkiel and Sofia Bartoloni were both 1-2 in the breast events. Urkiel narrowly edged her teammate out by .03 seconds in the 100 breast, clocking in at 1:03.10, while Bartoloni followed at 1:03.13. The 200 breast had Urkiel log a time of 2:15.96, with Bartoloni the runner-up in 2:16.04.
- Rutgers also had a runner-up placement by Shannon Meadway in the 200 back (2:00.47).
- The Scarlet Knights also went 2-3 in the 100 fly. Ellie Schinsky claimed second place, coming in at 56.54, while Viktoriia Kostromina placed third, hitting the wall in 56.64.
- Marytna Piesko. meanwhile, took third in the 100 back (56.90).

- Rutgers had a trio of top-three performances in the distance races.
- Berecz was runner-up in the 500 free (2:02.13), followed by Ella Arbeiter in third (5:09.43).
- The 1000 free saw a third-place finish from Isabela Valle (10:30.03).

- Both relay A squads took second against the Boilermakers.
- The 200 medley relay squad of Martyna Piesko, Ellie Schinsky and Brooke Thompson finished in 1:44.03, while Schinsky and Thompson joined Ella Hall and Jade Smits on the 400 free relay team to combine for a time of 3:40.10.

- The diving corps was led by a third-place finish from Bailee Sturgill on 3M, recording a score of 316.80.
