Spilis Collects Fifth Big Ten Weekly Laurel

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Graduate student Cassidy Spilis was named Big Ten Midfielder of the Week, it was announced Tuesday by the Conference. Spilis combined for 10 goals, 11 draw controls, six caused turnovers, and three ground balls for the Scarlet Knights in their two games last week. It marks the fifth Big Ten Midfielder of the Week honor for Spilis - the most for any student-athlete in the conference this season.

Spilis opened last week with five goals, four draw controls, two caused turnovers and a ground ball in RU's 14-8 win over Hofstra last Wednesday at SHI Stadium. The Tabernacle, New Jersey, native followed with five goals, seven draw controls, four caused turnovers and two ground balls in Rutgers' 13-12 overtime loss to No. 9 Johns Hopkins last Saturday in Piscataway. Spilis has scored five or more goals in four consecutive games and has tallied nine games with five or more goals this season.

A 2024 Midseason All-American by IlWomen, Spilis is second in the Big Ten and third nationally with 56 goals this season. In 13 games, Spilis has tallied 59 points, 56 goals, 69 draw controls, 27 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers. With six points, Spilis will pass current assistant coach Taralyn Naslonski for the most points in program history at 267.

Rutgers faces No. 15 Stony Brook Tuesday in Stony Brook, New York. First draw is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on LacrosseTV.
