PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football has a program-record 14 representatives on the Shrine Bowl 1000 released recently. The list is a collection of the top 1,000 all-star game eligible players at the FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels, and serves as an early look into the scouting process ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

WESLEY BAILEY
Bailey has started each of the last 25 games over the past two seasons, totaling 50 tackles with 12.5 for loss and 7.5 sacks. The Canadian had eight games with multiple stops in 2023, and added three pass breakups and a fumble recovery. That included a sack in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami.
NASEIM BRANTLEY
Brantley is set for his second season in the program and first on the field for the Scarlet Knights. The wide receiver owns 41 games of collegiate experience as a three-time all-conference pick. He has averaged 16 yards per reception during his career with 135 catches for 2,154 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2022 at Western Illinois, the Farmingdale, New Jersey, native was selected Second Team FCS All-America by
Phil Steele after recording 893 receiving yards with nine scores.
FLIP DIXON
In his first season with the Scarlet Knights, Dixon started all 13 games with 76 tackles to lead the secondary and rank third on the team. The performance garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten status by the media, a spot on the All-ECAC Defense and being slotted as the No. 12 safety in the Big Ten byÂ
Pro Football Focus. The Statesboro, Georgia, native hauled in an interception against Virginia Tech, forced a fumble versus Maryland and totaled six pass breakups. Dixon is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
DESMOND IGBINOSUN
Igbinosun enters 2024 with 30 games of experience, including 21 starts over the past two seasons. The defensive back totaled 64 tackles in 2023 with at least four stops in nine games. The Union, New Jersey, native set an RU Big Ten game record with four tackles-for-loss to go with a fumble recovery in the comeback win over Michigan State.
ATHAN KALIAKMANIS
Kaliakmanis enters his first season at Rutgers after playing in 23 games with 17 starts at quarterback for Minnesota the previous two seasons. He completed 216-of-405 passes for 2,784 yards and 17 touchdowns, adding 234 rushing yards and three scores on the ground. The Illinois native has three games with three touchdown passes and posted a career-high 319 passing yards in 2022 versus Wisconsin.
AARON LEWIS
Lewis has earned All-Big Ten honors each of the past two seasons. In 2023, the defensive lineman totaled 51 tackles with five for loss and three sacks, adding two pass breakups in starting all 13 games. The performance rated Lewis as the No. 12 edge defender in the Big Ten byÂ
Pro Football Focus. The Williamstown, New Jersey, native recorded a season-high eight tackles in the win over Virginia Tech, adding a stop on a two-point conversion attempt. Lewis also earned Academic All-Big Ten status last year.
ROBERT LONGERBEAM
Longerbeam was one of two players in the Big Ten with double-digit pass breakups in 2023, ranking fourth in the league with 0.85 passes defended per game (10 breakups, one interception). That included three passes deflected in the win at Indiana and two fumbles forced in the comeback over Michigan State. The cornerback from Alexandria, Virginia, additionally had a pick versus Northwestern, a sack against Virginia Tech, pounced on a muffed punt at Indiana and totaled 43 tackles in 13 starts. He was voted honorable mention All-Big Ten by the media and is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
SHAQUAN LOYAL
A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Loyal ranked fourth on the team with 66 tackles last season, adding a sack, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, an interception and a blocked punt. The Newark, New Jersey, native had a 43-yard pick-six in the 2022 win at Temple. Loyal enters 2024 with 30 games of experience.
DYMERE MILLER
Miller enters his first season with the Scarlet Knights after playing in 34 games for Monmouth the past four years. He was named All-America (first team) by multiple outlets in 2023 after leading the FCS with 1,293 receiving yards and 117.5 receiving yards per game, also placing second with 90 receptions. The wide receiver scored nine touchdowns and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, which honors the most outstanding player in the Football Championship Subdivision. He posted a career-high 333 receiving yards, the highest single-game total for any player in college football all year, on 11 catches with two touchdowns versus New Hampshire. Overall, the Coatesville, Pennsylvania, native owns 168 career receptions for 2,387 yards and 17 scores.
KYLE MONANGAI
The Big Ten's leading rusher in 2023, Monangai racked up 1,262 rushing yards with seven 100-yard games and three with 150 or more yards. The running back was voted Second Team All-Big Ten, ranked No. 12 nationally, second in the league and sixth in the school record book with 242 carries. He scored eight touchdowns, including a score on 163 rushing yards to garner MVP in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami. The Roseland, New Jersey, native rated as the top running back in the Big Ten, best in the Power 5 and No. 5 nationally byÂ

HOLLIN PIERCE
Pierce is set to enter the season having started 37 consecutive games on the Scarlet Knights' offensive line, the longest active streak on the roster. That included starting all 13 games at left tackle in 2023 and being voted honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. The Trenton, New Jersey, native was also rated the sixth-best tackle in the Big Ten by Pro Football Focus and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Rutgers led the league in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.08) and ranked fifth in rushing (168.7). The season was capped by 208 rushing yards and no sacks against in the win over Miami in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.
TYREEM POWELL
Powell has played in 33 games the last three seasons, totaling 144 tackles with eight for loss and five sacks, adding eight passes defended (seven breakups, one interception) and a forced fumble. The linebacker led Rutgers with 53 tackles last year before missing the final five games due to injury. The Vineland, New Jersey, native posted a career-high 11 stops in the win over Virginia Tech, contributing sacks versus Northwestern and at Michigan. Powell is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
AUSTIN RIGGS
From Eagle, Idaho, Riggs enters his first season as a long snapper for the Scarlet Knights. He played in 40 games the previous four seasons for BYU, including in two bowl games. Riggs earned Fourth Team All-Big 12 by
Phil Steele last season.
MOHAMED TOURE
Toure returned to the field after missing the 2022 season to play all 13 games and rank second on the defense with 93 tackles, including a team-high 9.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks. He posted a career-high 11 stops versus Maryland and had an interception against Ohio State. The linebacker from Pleasantville, New Jersey, was named as a Comeback Player of the Year semifinalist, earned honorable mention All-Big Ten recognition in the coaches and media votes and rated as the No. 7 linebacker in the Big Ten by
Pro Football Focus.
